Breaking The Habit

Ever wonder why one of your friends are always getting into financial problem? Have you ever wonder why, you try so hard to shed those love handles round your waist but they are forever there? Why is that girl next door which you have a crash on always dating guys who are creeps? And why do you always feel like every single one of your bosses likes to fuck you up the ass?

Because we are all creatures of patterns, good ones bad ones; most of us repeat and maintain these patterns throughout our entire lives and we often do it unconsciously. From the walking to dressing to eating, we’ve learned to do things a certain way. While most of our habits are harmless, but some can be handicaps without our realizing it, these habits or patterns effects our weight management to job satisfactory to financial contentment to relationships. So if you are in a losing streak, here are some pointers to get you out of that death loop that you are stuck in…

ONE: To break the pattern you gotta see the pattern.
Here are a few examples of shits that you might be in: Get in Shape Déjà Vu: you try numerous weight loss programs it worked but after a while it just comes back. Serial Job: Wherever you go, there will always be an incompetent boss, uncooperative coworkers that is always shoving shit into your ass. Continuous Financial Discontent: No matter how much you earn, you credit card bill never seems to show a good balance. Repetitive Toxic Relationship: You’re always attracted to the same type of men and women, which is exciting in short term but all it does is just burn a hole through your heart.

TWO: You are the one responsible for your own misfortune.
This is because we have choices. You’re the want how wanted to have an extra piece of cake for dessert. You are the one who choose to stay on the job when your boss is a jackass. You are the one who couldn’t resist swiping your credit card. To break your negative pattern, you got to take responsibility of them.

Instead of saying: Losing weight is hard for me
Say: I am over weight because I eat more calories than I burn them.

Or

Instead of saying: There is too much to do, it is overwhelming me
Say: I didn’t prioritize well.

When you put the word “me” behind the sentence, you are just pushing the blame on something or someone else and I guess a lot of us are expert at this. Instead when you put the “I” in front, you are beginning to see what is wrong and you are beginning to take action for it.

THREE: Within every failure is opportunity
Maybe some of you haven’t realized yet, but failure is actually a misunderstood and an underutilized asset. Try this, look back at one of your failure and try to extract one thing that you have learned from it. These are key points of breaking the patterns.

FOUR: If you want to see results, set specific goals
Sadly, many people spent more time planning for a birthday gathering or a two weeks’ vacation than they do for their life. They simply want the best party or the best two weeks’ vacation they ever have. Why don’t we apply the same strategy and commitment to plan out or goals in life, I am sure. You will be there in no time.

FIVE: Achievement is never an accident, nor is an unconscious process
If you have already done with number four, what you need to do are continually asses your goals. Once it is crystal clear what you want in your life, it is time to grab and take what is rightfully yours. Don’t sit there on your fat asses and wait for the apple to fall off the tree, go up there and grab some. Be proactive, repeat affirmation and be opportunity ready. Never be a guard dog, be a blood hound.

You might be wondering what in the blue hell am I writing all this stuff. Well, as I was looking back on my life these past few years and I have come a pretty long way to be in what I am right now, so much shit has happened and I have been through so many losing streak but yet I am still here and alive and never been better. So I hope that some of you out there who are going through shit right now might find something of use in this post and turn your life around. Remember we are really the author of our own lives and we can write a different outcome than the one we seem destined for. Start by changing just one small thing and you’ll be amazed at the difference.
