Cooking Bobo's Dish

I have done this post for some time ago. But I just couldn’t figure out why? You see some time ago I did this, “xniquet’s what is your dish challenge“thing on my blog; basically I will create a dish based on a person that I have talked to and have come to know. And so far, I have only done 2. The first one being The Binksterz Jello which was Pinksterz’s dish and Evie Eggie Egg Dish which was a dish to help EB ovulate and get pregnant. Since then I haven’t done any because I was stuck trying to decipher the dish I did for bobo. And after months, I have finally remembered.

Firstly let me introduced bobo’s dish; it is made up of two dishes actually. The first one which looks like Chee Cheong Fun (famous Chinese dish made out of rice, Hongkies love to have them for breakfast) and the other is a very non-Halal claypot dish, pork with red dates.

As you can see, this isn’t the normal Chee Cheong Fun dish; the Chee Cheong Fun is actually coated with crushed oaths and then fried; this is to let it have an extra crisp on the outside but still retains the softness inside. The sauce of the Chee Cheong Fun dish is not the normal Chinese sweet thick sauce that is usually served with. But it is soy sauce with mint and dash of lemon to give it a refreshing feel to it. The important ingredient to this sauce is actually the soy sauce used, which is River Pearl Bridge superior soy sauce. Served with chopped fresh spring onions and sesame, this doesn’t really taste like the conventional Chee Cheong Fun because it has the minty and sour taste to stimulate the taste bud.

The second dish is actually, chopped up pork, red dates and some black beans paste put together and then steamed in a clay pot. This dish actually goes side by side with the Chee Cheong Fun dish, because their taste compliments each other.

Now coming to the part where I have been trying to remember. Why did I done this dish and how this dish relates to bobo. You see, Chee Cheong Fun is a very familiar dish to most of us; I am sure most Chinese knows how it tastes like. But I have given this dish a little twist by tweaking the sauce into a refreshing minty and lemon scented sauce. You see on the first day that I chatting with bobo on the MSN, somehow I felt this familiarity feeling; just like we were old friends chatting away when we barely knew each other and in it all she was a breath of fresh air then and even to this day. So there you have it the first dish and it’s decipher. As for the second dish, it really has no resemblance but only the fact that it is a Teo Chew dish, she is Teo Chew and I am one too.

Macho Stewart Living & Podcast

Just the other day, Macho Man received a picture by one of his fan, showing Macho Man the kitchen French Fries’ horrid tragedy that befell the poor potato she was cooking. The image of the mutilated potato shall now forever haunt Macho Man’s dream. Macho Man shall not post the picture here for the sake of everyone who reads this. So today, Macho Man shall teach you how to make the perfect shoe lace fries, chips, wedges, crinkle cut or anything you call it. It is basically the same, being the shoe lace fries the easiest to make because it is thin and faster to cook. Anyway, Macho Man is not only going to show you how to make the perfect fries but also flavored fries.

Strawberry Chili Custard Fries

Wash and peel some potatoes, cut it in to whatever size you desire, but bear in mind, the bigger the size the harder to cook. Today, Macho Man feels like making it in the size of wedges. Boiled the cut potatoes in a pot of water until partially cooked; remember to add some salt in the water, because water boils at 100’C and with some salt in it, it will increase the temperature of the water. Next, you need to prepare the coating of the fries, which serve as the flavor giver. The coating is: one part of flour, two part of custard powder, a little chili/curry/tom yum powder and add strawberry milk to mix the entire ingredient together. Don’t add to much strawberry milk until the mixture becomes too watery. A thick and sticky mixture is the best.

Drained the potatoes and dump it into the mixture for a little while. Make sure that the potato wedges are nicely coated before deep frying them in vegetable oil. Fry the wedges until crisp and golden brown.

This is how the wedges look like when they are perfectly cooked. You can eat it right away with ketchup or vinegar and salt.

But I like to add mozzarella cheese and bake it. Just sprinkle a little mozzarella cheese on top of the wedges and bake it until all the cheese melts. Yeah it looks like KFC’s Cheesey wedges, pssst….Macho Man has been eating this wedges even before Cheesey wedges was introduced.

Okie, Evie took the “x’s What is your Dish Challenge” and it took me a while to figure out what sort of dish she is. After asking her a series of question, the only think that was in my macho head was “Steam” and “Eggs”, so this is what I come up with:

Evie’s Steamy Eggs

First you have to beat 2 eggs and divide them into three parts. Add a little water to the first part of the egg and steam it. Add a tom yum stock into the second part of the egg and mixed it well. When the first part of the egg is done add bean curd cubes on top and pour the second part of the egg into it and steam. Add curry powder into the third part of the egg and mixed well, when the second part of the egg is done, add the third part of the egg and steam. When it is all done, pour thick curry chicken on top of the steam eggs, garnish and serve.

Adding in the bean curd into the first part of the egg.

This dish has three layers: bottom is just plain steam eggs, middle tom yum flavor and top curry flavor.

Garnish the dish with fresh curry leaves to give it a strong curry smell. It can be served as an appetizer.

Decipher: Actually, I asked Evie a lot of questions for the purpose of creating this dish, but the Egg thing just keeps popping up in my mind. Maybe it is a sign, not to me but to her hubby that she is ready and she is full of eggs, if you know what I mean :P Anyway, that is what I think, if you have a better explanation, do share.

7 Days of Cleaning/Binksterz Jello

Alright, consider yourself lucky today, because this is actually a twin post, that means two posts combine and compressed into one. It deals with two separate mutually exclusive incidents. So here it goes:

Part 1: 7 days of Cleaning
I have been really slacking with my room cleaning these days. But as some of you may have already know, I will off to a gig, 2 gigs to be prĂ©cised. And I don’t want to come back home after the gigs and see what a dumpster my room is. So I decided to take 7 days to slowly sort out my room bit by bit. So when I come back from my gigs I will have a nice and neat room to welcome me. So I am going to do this like MTV’s Cribs style and show you the finished clean up portion of my room.
Day 1: Vanity table

I had to clear out shit load of empty cologne bottles that was there, and my mirror on the wall was filthy. I had a tough time cleaning that piece of shit.

Day 2: Blogging table

This is where all my shitty post in my blog comes from. This is the easier part of my room because I use this part a lot and there weren’t a lot of dust to clean.

Day3: TV, gaming and Stereo Shelf
I thought this was going to be easy but bloody hell; there was so much comb web on the fucking wires behind the shelf. All the TV and PS2 console’s wires were entangled with my Server’s cables (the white CPU in the picture). I spent almost half a day trying to sort out which wire was which.

Day4: My Gaming/Music & Video Editing PC table

This is where I chop and hack monsters and also edit all my music. You ask me why I still play games on my PC when I already have a game console. I have a very good answer for you. Because I invested a bomb on my graphic cards (RMX,XXX.00) and if I don’t play any games on this PC , it wouldn’t justify the cost right? So I have a good and valid reason to stay up all night and play games. YAY!!! I had to vacuum the bloody keyboard because it was full of Woa Woa’s hair inside.

Day5: DVD, Games, CD and Cooking Book Section

This is where I keep all my favorite DVDs, Games, CDs and Cooking Books. The rest of it is downstairs, because I don’t want anyone to see this part of the collection. Why? Because, most of the time when a friend borrows your DVD or CD or Game, it is bye bye to it and you probably never see it again. This is where I keep my treasured stuff and put on display my retired guitars. There was so much dust here; I had to clear the vacuum bag twice.

Day6: CD Cleaning Day
This was covered in my previous post.

Day7: Bed

The final day, changed my bed sheet, sun my pillow and duvet and now it smells so good. I don’t change my bed sheet too often. Usually, one week once, the most two weeks. So that is it, my room is whole again after a long period of slacking off. Nothing beats laying on my nice smelling and newly made bed and enjoying a mixed bowl of M&Ms and Skitts. YAY!!!
End of Part 1

Part 2: Binksterz Jello
Last night, a lucky person on my MSN list namely Binksterz took the X’s What is my Dish Challenge. What is this X’s What is My Dish Challenge all about? Let me tell you, first you need to answer a couple of questions and based from the answer that you have given, X is going to cook up a dish will resembles you. So, Binksterz took the challenge and this was the dish that resembles her.

Note: The name of the dish will be named as person who takes the challenge. This is Binksterz Jell. You must be wondering what the heck this is. Well, I’ll show you how it is made.

First you need to cook up some Chicken Stew. What is in here: Chicken Breast, Cabbage, Carrot, Onions, Wolfberries, Chicken Broth. Cook em until it gets really soft.

Then boil some Agar-agar (Jello), Dump the Chicken stew in to the boiling Jello and wait for it to cool. Pop it into the freezer and wait for it to cold then serve.

There you have it; it is actually a Chicken Stew Agar-Agar (Jello). The black stuff on top are ground pepper, it is not burnt :P. You know, as Binksterz was answering the question, she was moving towards a nice hot chicken stew kind of recipe, but she had to try to be funny and answer that she wants her dish freezing cold. So that is why this recipe was conceived.

X’s decipher on this dish: It looks sweet but taste salty, it looks solid but it is soft and full of chicken on the inside…wukakakka. It actually tastes not bad; you just got to have an open mind and look pass the fact of what it is and you will enjoy it :D

IF you are interested to know what sort of dish you are, come up to me on MSN and take the X’s Challenge :P
